Recently, I did fresh installs of Windows 7 64-bit OS to upgrade from Vista. Laptop is a Dell Latitude E5510 running Windows 7 32-bit. I have a Dell Inspiron 1720 and a Dell Inspiron 1521. Has anyone ever came across anything similar and managed to solve it? Even tried updating the BIOS to a later version as a shot in the dark but still nothing. Tried all of them from http:/ / support/ drivers/ uk/ en/ ukbsdt1/ ServiceTag/ 3h289n1 but nothing. Dell Inspiron 1440 Laptop Alps TouchPad Driver for windows 64 bit Download (9.80 MB). Im abit stumped to be honest, i've tried everything i can think of. Driver Installation (via Win Zip) with Mouse Keyboard Input Devices.

Windows found driver software but encountered an error while attempting to install. It goes though the installing software stage, but errors with 'Windows encountered a problem installing the driver software for your device. If i try and click on the only unknown device in device manager and update the driver manually from there. Restarting it just causes a loop so the only thing left is to stop it.
There are several drivers that look like they might work, but when i go to install them the files extract, but then the installation errors and it just brings up the greyed out restart or close program box. I have scoured the internet looking for drivers, but i cant find them anywhere. I reinstalled a Windows 7 Laptop (Dell Latitude E5510), but upon reinstalling i found that the touchpad didnt work, which was annoying.
